Elisha knew of the many counterfeits out there. He wanted to make sure that he had the right God.

Read 2 Kings 2:14

This demonstrates that he was following Elijah because of Elijah’s God.

Examine yourself, what is your motive for following?

Elisha split Jordan in two – means the anointing to rightly divide the Word of God.

Follow a man of God as long as he is following Christ.

Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:1 NKJV

You have no obligation to follow a man if does not follow CHRIST.

Many people today keep following a man even if he is not following Christ, this is dangerous because it makes you a unbeliever of Christ.

This makes you a follower of the carnal flesh.
